March 2013: Even MoreTeloschistes chrysophthalmus
Mark Jackson has found yet more, Goldeneyes Teloschistes chrysophthalmus near Brighton. He has found another 15 specimens at two new sites (on Blackthorn and Hawthorn), approximately 2.5 and 6 km from the first records found late last year. The sites are just outside of Rottingdean and Telscombe within 3 km from the sea.
This suggests a strong on going colonisation by this beautiful species.
One very impressive looking thalli shone like a beacon, and was spotted from 5m away.
